Client Interview - Boudoir Experience - San Diego Beach Boudoir
Wild & free spirited Ally contacted me for an outdoor boudoir session all about body positivity. Be prepared to fall a little - or a lot - in love with her!
Name: Ally
What's your age? 23
Describe yourself using only 5 words: Confident, dorky, passionate, accepting, adventurous
What prompted you to pull the trigger and schedule a boudoir session?
I had been wanting to do it for a while as a part of accepting my body. I saw my lovely friend Amanda's photos and fell in love with the style and how natural they looked. I just had to from there.
Check out Amanda's session here!
How do you feel about your body & what do you love about your body?
I struggle with my body a lot but in the last 2 years I've come a long way in my body positivity journey. I have accepted my body for what it is and what it does for me. I've allowed myself to love it and acknowledge that is beautiful in every form. The thing I love the most about it is just the fact that it let's me experience this life in the purest and fullest way I can. It houses my spirit.
How did you feel about being (nearly) naked in front of the camera?
I was really nervous the night before but once I walked onto the beach that all sort of melted away. I was surprisingly very confident being naked, even with the occasional stranger walking by haha
Did you have any fears about your boudoir session?
My biggest fear was just doing all of it and seeing my photos and absolutely hating the way i looked in them. That was very much not the case.
What was your favorite part about the boudoir experience?
My favorite part was how comfortable Debra made everything. I never once felt self conscious
How did you feel after seeing the images we created?
I felt really overwhelmed and proud of myself. Debra captured exactly how I've always wanted to see myself, sexy and beautiful and free.
Your best advice for women interested in their own boudoir session?
Don't wait. Don't wait until you have the perfect body or to lose the baby weight or until you're "ready". You're perfect now. If you wait for everything to be just right, you might be waiting forever.
Reflecting back to your shoot, what was the most important thing you can take away for your experience?
How important it is to celebrate ourselves and our bodies exactly how they are.
How did you like working with Debra & her team?
I absolutely loved it! Mandy was so sweet and she did my makeup and hair perfectly. Debra is the most encouraging person i could've asked for for my very first shoot. She made the whole experience so comfortable.
